The surroundings of Harkány
The surroundings of Harkány are full of sites. Sellye has a castle, a castle park and an Ormánság country house. The wooden coffered churches of Kórós, Drávaiványi, Kovácshida are one of the most extraordinary elements of the sights of the Ormánság. Kovácshida and Matty also belong to the most favoured angling paradises. The River Dráva which is known to be the cleanest river of Europe welcomes its visitors with not only its excellent angling sites but also with boat trips and with all the beauties of the Duna-Dráva National Park. We can reach the boat harbour of Drávaszabolcs from Harkány within five-ten minutes and once we are at Drávaszabolcs it is worth considering a trip to Donji Miholjaci to the castle of Majláth and the arboretum. Churches dated back to the Árpád-era (1000-1301) are found in Túrony and Nagyharsány. It is undoubtedly worth making the tour of Nagyharsány-Villány-Villánykövesd-Palkonya since besides other things on this way we can reach the only castle of Hungary the Siklós castle, which has always been inhabited since its existence and for which reason it is still in an exceptionally undecayed state.

North of Siklós, the double-tower church of Máriagyűd indicates the legendary shrine from a distance and by stepping into the church our soul is calmed down by the interior of the church of an entrancing beauty.
Driving further towards Nagyharsány-Villány it is suggested to visit the famous Statue Park of Nagyharsány. Here we can climb the Szársomlyó Hill however the peak can only be climbed in groups with a guide. During the one-and-a-half - two hours program the sight of incomparable beauty of the landscape and the flora and fauna will delight the eye. For visitors looking for a comfortable walk on a hill the Tenkes Hill lying North of Harkány is suggested warm heartedly where splendid panorama opens to all directions from the grooved cliffs of its crest.
What else could we suggest to finish our short trip but to visit Villány, Villánykövesd or Palkonya which are one of the most prestigious vine areas acknowledged in the world.
